Track your competition
How to add and monitor your competitors
Why Track Competitors?
In AI search, you don't just want to know if you are mentioned — you want to know who is being recommended instead of you. By tracking your competitors, GeoFlux allows you to measure Share of Voice (SOV) and identify exactly which sources are feeding your competitors' visibility.
Adding Competitors
You can manage your tracked competitors by navigating to Settings → Brands.
There are two ways to add competitors to your workspace:
1. Manual Entry
If you already know your main competitors, you can add them manually.
- Click Add competitor.
- Enter the brand's name.
- Important: Use the shortest, most recognizable form of the brand name (e.g., use "HubSpot" instead of "HubSpot, Inc."). This helps our extraction engine accurately identify mentions across AI responses.
2. Auto-Detected Suggestions
As GeoFlux runs your prompts, our engine parses the AI responses and automatically identifies any brands that are mentioned.
On the Brands page, under the Suggested competitors section, you'll see a list of these auto-detected companies. This is incredibly powerful because it reveals indirect competitors or rising alternatives that you might not have considered.
- You can review these suggestions and add them directly to your tracking list with one click.
- This helps you keep a pulse on the rapidly shifting landscape of AI recommendations.
Analyzing the Competition
Once competitors are added, their data will begin populating across your dashboard:
- Share of Voice (SOV): Compare your mention count directly against your tracked competitors over time.
- Competitor Sources: View which domains the AI is citing when recommending your competitors, providing you with high-value targets for your own PR and SEO efforts.
- Sentiment Comparison: Understand if the AI views your competitor more favorably or negatively compared to your brand.
