Sentiment
How AI perceives your brand
What is Sentiment?
Just because an AI model mentions your brand doesn't necessarily mean it's recommending you. The Sentiment metric measures the context and tone of those mentions.
It answers the question: "Is there a positive perception of our brand when we show up?"
Definition
GeoFlux measures sentiment on a 1 to 10 scale, representing average brand perception:
- 1 - 4: Negative perception (represented by a red, dissatisfied icon). Examples: The AI mentions your software is buggy or expensive compared to peers.
- 5: Neutral perception (represented by a grey, neutral icon). Examples: The AI lists your brand name alongside others without specific praise or criticism.
- 6 - 10: Positive perception (represented by a green, satisfied icon). Examples: The AI highly recommends your service, praising its features or customer support.
Display
In your Dashboard and Recent Chats views, this 1-10 scaled score is often translated dynamically into a percentage (e.g., a score of 8 becomes an 80% Sentiment Score) to provide a quick, intuitive read alongside visual face icons indicating the general mood of the response toward your brand.
Why it Matters
Tracking sentiment allows you to move beyond raw visibility. You might have 100% Visibility, but if the AI is mentioning you purely to warn users away, your GEO strategy is failing. By filtering your prompts by Sentiment, you can identify which specific questions or Personas are triggering negative AI hallucinations or outdated criticisms, allowing you to target those specific issues with new content or PR campaigns.
