Emails & notifications

Every email GEOflux sends, when it goes out, who gets it, and how to stop it

GEOflux sends two kinds of email:

  • Transactional emails go out only because someone just asked for something: a password reset, an invitation. They have no unsubscribe link.
  • Notification emails belong to one of three categories, and each can be turned off separately.

Emails come from no-reply@geoflux.ai. Replies to the account emails below (welcome, first finding, trial and inactivity) reach the GEOflux team.

The three categories

CategoryWhat it covers
AccountThe welcome email, your first finding, trial reminders, Free plan inactivity notices, updates on a free report you requested, and occasional product update emails.
ReportsThe weekly and monthly visibility summaries.
AlertsAlert emails and watchlist reports.

Unsubscribing from one category does not affect the other two.

Account emails

EmailWhenWho gets it
Welcome to GEOfluxWhen your account and first project are created. The person who signed up.
Your first findingAround day 3 to 5 of a trial, a Free project or a free report, once GEOflux has one specific finding worth sharing, for example an engine that has not named you yet, or a site AI cites for your competitors and not for you. If there is nothing worth sending, nothing is sent.Admins and the owner.
Trial endingWhen 7, 3 and 1 days are left on a card-free trial, each with your visibility so far when there is data. Adding a payment method stops them.Admins and the owner.
Your GEOflux trial has endedThe day a trial ends without a payment method.Admins and the owner.
Trial follow-ups3 and 14 days after a trial ended, unless you are on a plan by then. The 14-day one is the last.Admins and the owner.
Tracking pauses soon / Tracking is pausedOn Free, warnings after 60, 75 and 85 days without a login, then a notice when tracking pauses at 90. See Billing and credits.Admins and the owner.
Free report updatesFor a free AI visibility report requested on geoflux.ai: a note when its first answers are in, and one when its free week is over if nobody has claimed it.The address the report was sent to.
Product updatesNow and then, when there is something new in GEOflux worth knowing. The same updates are under What's new in the app. Not sent to addresses that unsubscribed from Account emails; it has its own unsubscribe link.Admins and the owner.

Visibility summaries

GEOflux emails a visibility summary for each project to the people with access to it, while the project is on a paid plan, a trial or a running Free plan:

  • Weekly: every 7 days, counted from the day the project was created, covering the last 7 days.
  • Monthly: on the same day of the month the project was created, covering the last 30 days. When a weekly and a monthly summary fall on the same day, you get the monthly one. Projects created on the 29th to the 31st skip the months that have no such day.

When neither your brand nor any competitor had any visibility in the period or the one before, you get a shorter "no visibility yet" version. During a trial, Admins and the owner skip the weekly summary on the day the "one week left" email carries the same numbers.

Alert and watchlist emails

  • Alerts: an "Active GeoFlux alert" email when an alert's condition is met, and a "Cleared GeoFlux alert" email when it is no longer met, sent to the recipients set on the alert. See Alerts.
  • Watchlist reports: a daily, weekly or monthly report on the domains in a watchlist, sent to the addresses set on the watchlist. See Watchlists.

Both go to the addresses you set, whether or not they have a GEOflux login.

Transactional emails

These cannot be unsubscribed from, because they only go out when you or a teammate asks:

  • Confirm your email address, when you sign up with a password.
  • Reset your password, from Forgot password? on the login screen.
  • Invitations, when the owner or an Admin invites you to a project or to every project. See User management.
  • Free report requests made on geoflux.ai: the confirmation link, and a note if a report for that brand is already running or the address has reached its limit of free reports.

Unsubscribing

Every notification email has an Unsubscribe link in its footer, and works with your mail app's one-click unsubscribe button.

  1. Click Unsubscribe in the email. The page asks you to confirm stopping that email's category.
  2. Click Unsubscribe to confirm.
  3. On the confirmation page you can also choose Unsubscribe from all GEOflux emails, or Undo if you clicked by mistake.

Unsubscribing applies to your email address. Unsubscribing from everything stops every GEOflux email except the ones you ask for yourself, like a password reset. There is no email settings page in the app: to get a category back later, write to hello@geoflux.ai.

To stop an alert or a watchlist report for everyone who receives it, edit or delete it in the app instead.
