Getting started

Find your way around

The sidebar, the top bar, Tracking health and the command palette

GEOflux has three ways to get around: the sidebar on the left, the top bar above every page, and the command palette (Cmd+K). Everything you see is for one project at a time, the one picked in the brand selector at the top of the sidebar.

The brand selector

The selector at the top of the sidebar sets the project every page reports on. It lists your active projects. If the project you are on has ended its subscription, it stays visible, marked Inactive. Agencies with a payment method on file also get Add new project at the bottom of the list.

Switching project takes you to the same page for the new project. If you were on a page that belongs to the old one (a prompt, a watchlist, a source or a brand profile), you go back to that section's list instead (for a brand or source, the matching Overview tab). Each project remembers the filters you last used on it during your session; see Filters and time periods.

The sidebar

Items your plan does not include show a lock. You can still open them to see an example and what upgrading adds.

General

  • Overview: the dashboard, in tabs. See The Overview dashboard.
  • Prompts: add, import, organize and archive the questions you track. See Add and manage prompts.
  • Answers: read, search and export what the engines said. See Answers.
  • AI Readiness: the weekly check that AI crawlers can reach your site. Locked on Free. See AI Readiness.

Project

  • My brand: the brand GEOflux tracks for you. See Your brand.
  • Competitors: the brands you measure against, and suggestions. See Track competitors.
  • Tags: your prompt labels. See Organize your prompts.
  • Watchlists: recurring reports on the source domains you care about. See Watchlists.
  • Personas: the audiences you track. Locked on Free. See Personas.
  • Alerts: emails when a metric crosses a line. See Alerts.

Sources and brands have no sidebar item. Open them from the Sources and Brands tabs on the Overview, from any link to a domain or brand, or from the command palette.

  • Upgrade: shown while your plan can be upgraded. Opens the Subscription page.
  • What's new: the latest product updates. An orange dot means there is one you have not opened yet; See all updates opens the full changelog on geoflux.ai.
  • Get in touch: emails the GEOflux team.
  • Docs: opens these docs.
  • Feedback: Report a bug, Request a feature or Other feedback, with an optional screenshot. It goes straight to the team.
  • Logout.

Use the arrows at the top of the sidebar to collapse it to icons. On a phone, open it with the menu button in the top-left corner.

The top bar

  • Search: opens the command palette (see below).
  • Tracking health: the heart icon. See the next section.
  • Refer & earn: the gift icon, when the referral program is available on your account. It opens the referral program: your link to share, and what your referrals have earned.
  • Full width / Fit width: widens the page to your screen, or keeps it at a comfortable reading width.

On the Overview, Prompts, Answers and detail pages, the top bar also holds the period and the Filters button. See Filters and time periods.

Tracking health

Tracking health is a short list of the things that make your data less reliable, with a button to fix each one. The heart icon in the top bar shows how many there are; its panel reads Nothing to fix when the list is clear. It appears once your project is set up and its first answers are in.

What it flagsWhy it mattersWhat to do
Use at least half your creditsWith few prompts, too few answers come in to show a real trend.Track more prompts, starting with the suggested ones.
Track your competitorsShare of voice is measured against the competitors you track.Add competitors, or review the suggested ones.
Prompts whose answers never mention you or a competitorThe answers name brands, but none you track, so the prompt spends credits without telling you anything about your market. If those brands are your competitors, track them. If not, rewrite or archive the prompt.
Prompts whose answers name no brand at allVisibility, share of voice and sentiment are all built on brand mentions, so these prompts cannot report on them.Rewrite them as recommendation or comparison questions.
Suggested competitors waiting for reviewA brand that keeps appearing in your answers may be a competitor you are not measuring.Track it or reject it.
Describe what you sellSuggested prompts are written from your brand description.Add a description on My brand.

The two prompt checks look at the last 7 days, and only judge prompts that are at least 3 days old and have at least 3 answers. The warning markers in the prompts table use the period you have selected instead, so the two can occasionally disagree. See Prompt warnings.

The command palette

Press Cmd+K (Ctrl+K on Windows), or click the search bar, to open the command palette.

  • Go to a page: every Overview tab, plus Prompts, Answers, Sources, My brand, Competitors, Tags, Watchlists and Alerts. Admins and owners also get Users, and on agency accounts My agency, Projects and Pitch reports. Pages your role or account type cannot open are left out. Personas, Shared reports, AI Readiness and Subscription are reached from the sidebar.
  • Search as you type: your prompts, answers from the last 30 days, tags and alerts. Type at least 2 characters.
  • Search all answers for your text opens the Answers page with that search applied.

Choosing an alert from the results opens it for editing.
