Watchlists

Follow the source domains that matter to you, with a recurring email report

The Sources tab shows every site the engines cite. Most of the time, though, a handful matter most: the review site that dominates your category, the publication where you just landed a feature, a competitor's blog that keeps getting cited. A watchlist follows those domains for you, with its own page and a recurring email to whoever needs it.

Watchlists belong to the project selected in the sidebar.

Setting one up

  1. Go to Watchlists (under Project in the sidebar) and click Add watchlist.
  2. Watchlist title: name it for what it watches, for example "Review sites" or "Press coverage".
  3. Domains: pick from domains GEOflux already knows, or type your own, such as nytimes.com.
  4. Email frequency: Daily, Weekly (the default) or Monthly.
  5. Emails: the teammates or clients who should get the report. They do not need a GEOflux login.

The Watchlists table lists each watchlist's name, frequency, recipients and domains, with a search box. Use a row's menu to Edit or Delete it. Only members who can edit, on a project with an active subscription, can add, change or delete watchlists.

The watchlist page

Click a watchlist to explore its domains in the app:

  • Filters for brand, metric (Mentions, Visibility or Share of Voice), period and engine. It opens on Mentions over the last 7 days.
  • A chart of the chosen metric over time, for answers that cite the watched domains.
  • Details: one row per brand (yours and your tracked competitors) with Visibility, Share of Voice and Mentions in answers citing the watched domains. A toggle switches Share of Voice between vs. all brands and vs. competitors. Click a brand to highlight it and filter the chart and pages to it.
  • The pages on those domains, with Source URL, Citations and Brands (the brands named in the answers citing each page).

The email report

Each report goes to the addresses on the watchlist, with the subject "GeoFlux watchlist report" followed by the watchlist's name. It lists pages on the watched domains that your answers cite, with:

  • Source URL: the page, as a link.
  • Citations: how many times it was cited.
  • Brands: which of your brand and your tracked competitors appeared in the answers citing it.

View your dashboard opens the watchlist page. When there is nothing to report, no email is sent. Reports go out only while the project has an active subscription.

Every report has an unsubscribe link. Watchlist reports share an email category with alerts, so unsubscribing stops both for that address. To stop a report for everyone, edit or delete the watchlist. See Emails and notifications.

What to watch

  • Your own domains. Watch whether the pages you publish get picked up as sources, and on which prompts.
  • New coverage. After a PR placement, add the publication and see whether the engines start citing that article, and whether your brand appears next to it.
  • The kingmakers in your category. The review sites and comparison pages that dominate your Sources tab. A change in what they say shows up in AI answers.
  • Competitors' domains. See when a competitor's own content starts being used as evidence.
  • For agencies: a watchlist per client on the sites you are working on, sent to the client, shows the work landing between monthly reports.
