Your brand
Set up the brand GEOflux tracks for you, so every mention is counted
Everything GEOflux measures is relative to one brand: yours. The My brand page (under Project in the sidebar) is where you define it. Getting it right is what makes the counting accurate: if AI calls you by a name GEOflux does not know, those answers read as not mentioning you, and your visibility looks lower than it is.
What to set
| Field | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Brand name | The primary name GEOflux looks for in answers. Use the shortest form people actually say: "HubSpot", not "HubSpot, Inc.". |
| Brand website | Your main domain. It is how GEOflux recognizes your own pages among the cited sources, and where your logo comes from. It is also the site AI Readiness audits. |
| Alternate names | Other names, spellings, abbreviations and product names you go by, up to 10. Press Enter after each. |
| Alternate websites | Other domains you own, such as a docs site, a blog or a regional site, up to 10. Their citations count as yours. |
| Country | The one market this project tracks. It is set when the project is created and cannot be changed. To track another market, create another project. |
| Description | One to three sentences someone unfamiliar with you could read and understand, up to 400 characters. GEOflux writes your suggested prompts from it. |
| Business type | B2B or B2C. It sets the audience your suggested prompts are written for. |
| Phone number | Optional, a number we can reach you on. Agencies keep theirs on My agency instead. |

Why names matter
GEOflux counts a mention only when it recognizes your brand in the answer. Buyers, journalists and the engines themselves often use more than one name: an abbreviation, a former name, a common misspelling, a local spelling.
- Add every variant you see in real answers as an alternate name. Search the Answers page for likely variants after your first week.
- A product name that includes your brand name, such as "Wise Business" for Wise, already counts as your brand when the answer ties it to your website. Product names that do not include your brand name need an alternate name.
- Avoid generic words as alternate names. An alternate name like "Bank" or "Cloud" would match answers that are not about you.
A few minutes here is the cheapest accuracy fix in GEOflux: every missed variant is a mention your numbers never see.
Why the description matters
Your description is the brief GEOflux works from when it writes suggested prompts and looks for competitors. "Accounting software" produces generic suggestions. "Cloud accounting for UK freelancers and micro-businesses, with automatic Making Tax Digital submissions" produces prompts your buyers actually ask. The field shows a counter (N / 400); aim for one to three sentences that say what you sell, to whom, and what sets you apart.
Switching between brands
If you manage more than one brand, for example as an agency, use the brand selector at the top of the sidebar to switch. Each brand is its own project, with its own prompts, competitors, personas, settings and data, and every page reports on the one selected. Each project also remembers the filters you last used on it during your session. If you were on a page that belongs to the old project, such as a prompt or a source, you go back to that section's list.
Next, add the rivals you want to measure against in Track competitors.
