AI Readiness

A weekly check that AI engines can actually reach and read your website

Your visibility metrics tell you how often AI engines mention you. AI Readiness tells you whether they can read your website in the first place. If ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity cannot fetch your pages, because of a robots.txt rule, a missing sitemap, or a firewall that quietly turns bots away, your own content cannot shape what they say about you, however good it is. Fixing that is often the cheapest win in GEO.

AI Readiness is a weekly audit of your brand's website. It is under General in the sidebar.

Which website is audited

The audit runs on the Brand website set on My brand for the project selected in the sidebar. The page header shows the brand and the domain being checked. Without a website, no audit runs; add one on My brand. Switch project in the sidebar to see another brand's audit.

What it checks

AI Readiness is organized into tabs. Access is live and holds four checks:

CheckWhat it answers
CrawlabilityCan the named AI bots fetch your homepage?
Robots.txt analysisIs your robots.txt valid, and does it block anything it should not?
Sitemap reachabilityAre the pages AI already cites in your sitemap, and is the sitemap healthy?
Edge / WAFIs a CDN or firewall in front of your site blocking AI bots before they reach it?

Each check has a card on the Access tab with its headline number, a status, Last checked and, when something changed since the previous run, the change vs. last week. Click a card for the detail. See Access checks for what each one measures and how to fix what it finds.

How often it runs

Audits run automatically once a week, on a fixed day for each brand. Each check's page shows Next audit in its header once the first audit has run. There is nothing to start by hand, apart from a limited manual URL check on the Edge / WAF page. Each check's Timeline tab keeps the last 26 weekly runs, so you can see what changed and when.

Coming soon

These appear in the app with a Coming soon badge and have no data yet:

  • Render accessibility (Access tab): what AI bots see compared with what people see, rendering pages with and without JavaScript.
  • Site speed (Access tab): how fast your website loads.
  • Structure tab: information architecture, internal linking, schema markup, semantic HTML and content hierarchy.
  • Authority tab: brand trust signals, citation footprint, off-site mentions and credibility markers.

Plans

AI Readiness is included on Starter, Growth and trials. On Free, the sidebar item shows a lock, and opening it shows an example of the audit with the plan that includes it. See Billing and credits.

Good practice

  • Check it after any site change: a migration, a new CDN or security rule, a robots.txt edit. These are the usual moments AI bots get locked out by accident.
  • Fix user-prompted and answer-engine bots first. Blocking them removes you from answers. Blocking training crawlers is a choice some brands make on purpose.
  • Pin a chart note on the day you fix something, so you can read its effect on visibility later.
  • Send the findings to whoever owns the site. Each finding explains why it matters and how to fix it, often with a snippet to copy.
